Senior Associates are responsible for leading the development and production of analytic products in support of CSP’s strategy and transaction practices. Senior Associates are expected to take client-facing roles while managing project execution and deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter knowledge/experience in commercial aerospace, defense, space, and / or government services, a strong, multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and the ability to manage and execute multiple client deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Produce high quality work product using Microsoft Office Suite
- Lead, design, and conduct primary industry research and analysis on a range of strategic, economic, and policy issues; building PowerPoint exhibits and Excel models; and providing related support as necessary to produce and deliver high-quality client work products on a timely basis
- Actively participate in meetings and teleconferences with clients, target company management teams, and customer representatives
- Manage CSP forecast models from creation to final delivery, including providing insightful analysis of client financial datasets, creating and updating model formats and structures, organizing and inputting Management and CSP data and assumptions; and incorporating required supporting data
- Manage the design and production of substantive ‘modules’ of CSP’s report (e.g., Served Market, Macro Market, Customer diligence, Line of Business Assessment, etc.)
- Meaningfully contribute to CSP forecasting efforts (e.g., platform build rates, shipset values, target company revenue inputs and CSP forecast assumptions)
- Research, prepare, and maintain client-ready models to perform market sizing and competitive analysis
Senior Associate candidates should possess the following:
- At least 4 years of work experience, in one of the following roles:
- Management Consulting
- Investment Banking
- Private Equity
- Military or Intelligence Community
- Defense Products, Systems or Services in Strategy, Corporate Development
- Commercial Aviation Strategy, Corporate Development
- A four-year degree from a top-tier institution in engineering, business, economics, international relations, or security studies
- Demonstrated track record of academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Advanced internet research skills
- Ability to work both individually and in a small team to meet strict deadlines
- Be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of the aerospace, defense, and/or federal technology services markets
- Proven experience executing and managing complex analytical assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively in all forms
- Demonstrated track record of professional and academic achievement
- Experience with development of Excel models for financial forecast and valuation purposes and advanced PowerPoint skills
Preferred candidates will also possess:
- An advanced degree from a selective institution in business, economics, international relations, or security studies
- An understanding of federal programmatic and budgeting processes and/or commercial aviation market dynamics
- Understanding of M&A dynamics and the aerospace / defense industry landscape
- Experience with transaction advisory (due diligence) activity in a client-facing role
Compensation
Compensation is highly competitive and the work is both very challenging and professionally rewarding. Compensation is performance based (reflected in the firm’s bonus structure) and may run higher than industry average for high-performing team members.
