Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in our served markets at a consulting firm, private equity sponsor, investment bank, or in a strategy and corporate development function. He or she will be highly motivated and articulate, verbally and in writing, and strongly proficient in Powerpoint and Excel. Open Positions

Director

As a Director your role will include leading the execution of client strategic and transaction advisory engagements including, among other tasks: conducting primary research and analysis; structuring, constructing, and managing client deliverable products; participating in and leading meetings and teleconferences with clients, target company management teams and customer representatives; coordinating and managing small teams of CSP personnel in the execution of CSP engagements; coaching and mentoring junior consultants to develop their skills and expertise, and providing related support as necessary to produce and deliver high-quality client work products on a timely basis.  The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter expertise (commercial aerospace, defense, space, and government services), a strong multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and the ability to manage (and execute) multiple client deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment.

Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • Experience, strong interest, and understanding of supply chain and M&A dynamics in relevant industries: commercial aviation, defense, space, and government services
  • Prior consulting or advisory experience in the sector, especially in leading the execution of strategy engagements and providing transaction advisory services
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex quantitative analysis
  • Skills in creating presentation deliverables, designing and implementing Excel-based financial and market models
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with clients and target management teams
  • Ability to identify key questions and issues, generate hypotheses, design and conduct research and synthesize and present conclusions
  • Ability to manage complex client engagements within a demanding but rewarding work environment

Required Qualifications:

  • A four year degree from a top-tier institution in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Business, Political Science, or Public Policy
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MA, MS etc.) and/or 5-8 years of relevant professional experience (consulting, investment banking, private equity), with at least three years in target industry sectors

Senior Associate

Senior Associates are responsible for leading the development and production of analytic products in support of CSP’s strategy and transaction practices. Senior Associates are expected to take client-facing roles while managing project execution and deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter knowledge/experience in commercial aerospace, defense, space, and / or government services, a strong, multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and the ability to manage and execute multiple client deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include: 

  • Produce high quality work product using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Lead, design, and conduct primary industry research and analysis on a range of strategic, economic, and policy issues; building PowerPoint exhibits and Excel models; and providing related support as necessary to produce and deliver high-quality client work products on a timely basis
  • Actively participate in meetings and teleconferences with clients, target company management teams, and customer representatives
  • Manage CSP forecast models from creation to final delivery, including providing insightful analysis of client financial datasets, creating and updating model formats and structures, organizing and inputting Management and CSP data and assumptions; and incorporating required supporting data
  • Manage the design and production of substantive ‘modules’ of CSP’s report (e.g., Served Market, Macro Market, Customer diligence, Line of Business Assessment, etc.)
  • Meaningfully contribute to CSP forecasting efforts (e.g., platform build rates, shipset values, target company revenue inputs and CSP forecast assumptions)
  • Research, prepare, and maintain client-ready models to perform market sizing and competitive analysis

Senior Associate candidates should possess the following:

  • At least 4 years of work experience, in one of the following roles:
    • Management Consulting
    • Investment Banking
    • Private Equity
    • Military or Intelligence Community
    • Defense Products, Systems or Services in Strategy, Corporate Development
    • Commercial Aviation Strategy, Corporate Development
  • A four-year degree from a top-tier institution in engineering, business, economics, international relations, or security studies
  • Demonstrated track record of academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Advanced internet research skills
  • Ability to work both individually and in a small team to meet strict deadlines
  • Be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of the aerospace, defense, and/or federal technology services markets
  • Proven experience executing and managing complex analytical assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all forms
  • Demonstrated track record of professional and academic achievement
  • Experience with development of Excel models for financial forecast and valuation purposes and advanced PowerPoint skills

Preferred candidates will also possess:

  • An advanced degree from a selective institution in business, economics, international relations, or security studies
  • An understanding of federal programmatic and budgeting processes and/or commercial aviation market dynamics
  • Understanding of M&A dynamics and the aerospace / defense industry landscape
  • Experience with transaction advisory (due diligence) activity in a client-facing role

Associate

Associates are responsible for the development and production of analytic products in support of CSP’s strategy and transaction practices. The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter knowledge/experience in commercial aerospace, defense, space, and / or government services, a strong multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and a proven track record of productivity in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Produce high quality work product using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meaningfully contribute insightful analysis of client financial datasets to develop detailed revenue and earnings models
  • Support senior staff in conducting primary industry research and analysis on a range of strategic, economic, and policy issues; building PowerPoint exhibits and Excel models; and providing related support as necessary to produce and deliver high-quality client work products on a timely basis
  • Support in the design and production of substantive ‘modules’ of CSP’s report (e.g., Served Market, Macro Market, Customer diligence, Line of Business Assessment, etc.)
  • Contribute to CSP forecasting efforts (e.g., platform build rates, shipset values, target company revenue inputs and CSP forecast assumptions)

  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel with demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively work with and build models using large datasets
  • Demonstrated track record of academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Advanced internet research skills
